Motability is a registered charity responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the Motability Scheme, which helps disabled people with their personal mobility. They provide grants to disabled people who would not otherwise be able to afford the vehicle or adaptations they need.
Orbital were asked to refresh the Motability brand – giving it an open, friendly and confidence-inducing look and feel. It needed to be aspirational but rooted in real experience.
As well as working directly with disabled people, the charity also raises awareness of the scheme via people who advise them, such as health care professionals. A requirement of this evolution was to visually differentiate between the two audiences across the resources.
Accessibility was another top consideration – ensuring all materials were readable by people with both visual disabilities and cognitive disabilities, such as autism and dyslexia.
